Designed by T.P Ayre for General Electric. Compiled from Unclassified NASA data. Dated 1965 (print code 5-65). Offset lithograph on heavy (card-like) paper stock. Measures 39.25” x 28.5” (97cm x 72cm). Excellent Condition. Some minor creasing in places. Stored rolled.

This original poster issued by General Electric to the general public is the first of a series produced between 1965-1969. This first edition dated 1965 shows the planned flight path for the manned flight to the Moon. There is a great cutaway illustration of the Apollo Saturn V and its command module. Proposed lunar landing and take off locations are shown. The poster contains a wealth of information on the mission timetable. Later issues were updated with more information including space suits and some photos of the moon from the Apollo 8 mission.

The Apollo program (1963-1972), also known as Project Apollo, was the United States human spaceflight program carried out by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), which succeeded in preparing and landing the first humans on the Moon. GE were a major engineering partner in the Apollo missions, indeed Thomas O. Paine left his role as the lead researcher and executive at GE to become Deputy Administrator at NASA and later Administrator to oversee the moon landings in 1969.
