Bravingtons - Catalogues and Ring Size Gauge - Please Take One.

Wood construction with removable glass panes. Gilt lettering. Felt lined base. Circa 1930s. Measures 36cm (H) x 35.5cm (W) x 28cm (D). Excellent condition.

This lovely display stand would have sat upon a shop counter in one of the three Bravington’s London stores. Its a beautifully designed object. The three shelves are deep, designed to hold catalogues and metal ring size gauges. Removing the glass makes it more useful for smaller documents such as letters and pamphlets.

Bravington’s Jewellers opened their King’s Cross branch in the 1920s and by the 1950s had opened stores at Fleet Street and Old Brompton Road. They operated right up until the 1990s.
