London Street Sign - Addison Road W14 - Kensington and Chelsea

sold out

Addison Road, W14. Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.

Aluminium sign. Measures 81cm x 55cm. Condition: Good ex-used condition. Some discolouration consistent with being in situ for decades. Drilled mounting holes in each corner.

An attractive and decorative street sign for Addison Road W14 in the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea, London. Addison Road connects Kensington High Street with Notting Hill and Holland Park - some of the most affluent residential areas in London.

This sign would have been displayed close to pavement level, upon a low wall. The signs along Addison Road have all been replaced within the last 20 years. Unlike the earlier vitreous enamel signs, the construction of this sign is very different - its much lighter and has been built up in layers. Therefore this sign probably dates 1960s-1980s.

The current signs are very similar, the notable difference being the ‘W14’ post code which is now the same size as the road name.
