Phantom of the Opera Prosthetic mould - Ramin Karimloo, Her Majesty’s Theatre London (2007)
Designed and produced by the Chris Tucker Studio. Solid plaster mould in two pieces and marked “Ramin K - 7 - 23-8-07”. Measures approximately 30cm across and 20cm in height when assembled. Used for the London production at Her Majesty’s Theatre. One anchor point on the upper section broke off at some point and has been well repaired.

This mould was produced by Chris Tucker and his studio for one of the best Phantoms to play the role, Ramin Karimloo, and creates the Phantom’s disfigured skull latex prosthetic for the London production at Her Majesty’s Theatre.
Tanya Noor (Make-up artist for Ramin Karimloo) explains…”Chris begins by taking a head cast then he sculpts the deformity onto the head, and then makes the foam latex pieces from it. The head cast, complete with the applied pieces, is then supplied to Bob Saunders who makes the mask to fit over the cast and prosthetics.”
This mould is dated 23rd August 2007, just days before Ramin Karimloo took over the role of Phantom for the best part of 2 years. In 2009, Ramin originated the role of Erik in Andrew Llloyd Webber’s sequel to Phantom, “Love Never Dies” and returned to Phantom of the Opera for the 25th Anniversary performance at the Royal Albert Hall in 2011.
Chris Tucker devised the original make up for Michael Crawford alongside with Maria Bjornson for the original 1986 London production.
